roadtrip honeymoon part 1

we decided to get out of vegas for a few days for a little honeymoon roadtrip, so we rented a mustang convertible and hit the road!

first off, we headed up the extraterrestrial highway towards the little town of rachel and the home of the "top secret" area51!

the roads were the kind you see in movies, that go on for as far as the eye can see in straight lonely lines, only the odd cow or roadkill to remind you you're not on the moon!

when we arrived in rachel we stopped off at the "little a le inn" for a cuppa. the walls are covered with photos of ufo sightings from locals, and sells lots of alien themed merchandise for us tourists! we had a lovely chat with the people there, then set off to the valley of fire, stopping at the famous "black mailbox" on the way, where alien hunters meet on a night to search the skies for ufo's!

driving through the valley of fire national park was awesome, especially as the sunset light bounced off the red rocks, totally stunning!
